HealthNet hires its first director of development

JANESVILLE, WI – HealthNet of Rock County’s CEO Ian Hedges announced that the organization has hired its first Director of Development. Heidi Van Kirk was selected after a regional search was conducted. Heidi Van Kirk is currently the Public Relations Manager for Agard & Lipker Dental, SC. Before her tenure at Agard & Lipker Dental, Heidi worked as the Employee Assistance Program Coordinator at Crossroads Counseling Center.

Van Kirk is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Superior with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She will begin her position at HealthNet of Rock County, Inc. on September 18, 2017.

Hedges stated that Van Kirk’s cross-section in health care, public relations, and her willingness to advocate for low-income patients would be strong assets to HealthNet. “I believe Heidi’s past experiences and her deep compassion for patients without any means make her an excellent fit into HealthNet’s current working culture,” said Hedges.

HealthNet of Rock County’s Director of Development position began this fiscal year as HealthNet is seeking to further build its organization and enhance the services it provides to the community. The organization’s Director of Development will be in charge of major giving initiatives, fundraising events, and grant writing. Three years of partial funding for this position was provided by the Janesville Foundation through its grant-making program. Hedges states the investment from the Janesville Foundation was critical to establishing the position at HealthNet of Rock County, Inc because the organization tries to use donations from the public mostly on patient services and care.
