Grant will provide more access to health care and improve patient outcomes in Rock County
JANESVILLE, WI – HealthNet of Rock County today announced it has received a grant from the CVS Health Foundation, in partnership with the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NAFC). The grant has been awarded as part of the CVS Health Foundation’s commitment to address the need for more accessible, coordinated health care in our local communities. The grant will help HealthNet of Rock County support its case management services that help patients navigate the complex health care system.
“Support from the CVS Health Foundation will help us in our continued effort to reduce overall health care costs for our local health systems and improve patient care outcomes for those in our local community,” said Ian Hedges, Executive Director for HealthNet of Rock County. “We are honored to receive this grant which will help ensure that we can support patients in Rock County who are looking for affordable healthcare.”
Grants awarded to free clinics nationwide in partnership with the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics have allowed organizations to increase operating hours and the number of patient visits, resulting in a decrease in the number of emergency room visits and improved patient compliance.“Through our multi-year partnership with the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics, we’ve seen firsthand the impact that free clinics have on the health and well-being of their local communities,” said Eileen Howard Boone, President, CVS Health Foundation. “We’re honored to support HealthNet of Rock County and the work they do to provide patients in Rock County access to the health services they need to lead healthier lives.”
The free clinic grants are part of the CVS Health Foundation’s $5 million, multi-year commitment to supporting community health and expanding access to quality health care nationwide through partnerships with the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics and the National Association of Community Health Centers.
